By Sr. Hermana Blatz
As I was quietly sitting at my desk wondering what the day would bring, in walked Sister Magdalen with a request. Anne Miller asked that I contribute an article to the blog on our website. That was hardly what I had anticipated.
My dilemma was that I had not engaged in such lofty thoughts for so long that it required a bit of a “interior kick” to motivate my brain. However, it didn’t take me long to recall that just an hour before I had read a short poem, Nurturing Your Spirit, by Robert Wicks. The thoughts in this poem are my gift to you, the reader.
NURTURING YOUR SPIRIT
Read a bit
Listen to a favorite song
Call a friend
Remember a kindness
Help the poor
Keep perspective
Smile broadly
Laugh loudly
Close doors gently
Do what you can
Live gratefully
Relax for a moment
Breathe deeply
Tease yourself often
Take a quiet walk
Tell God a funny story
